Santa’s Favorite Holiday Brew

Way back before Santa became the jolly North Pole resident we all know, he was actually an Ethiopian reindeer herder! And let me tell you, he had quite the eye for a great cup of coffee. This holiday season, Santa returned to Ethiopia for a naturally bold, delicious bean—because nothing says "Merry Christmas" like a cup of holiday magic. With rich notes of sweet cranberry, chocolate and a burst of sugar plum, this brew is like sipping Christmas in a cup. So cozy up, enjoy, and let the warmth of the season fill your heart!

The Story of the First Christmas

Once upon a time, long before the North Pole and the elves, Santa—known back then as St. Nicholas—was just your average Ethiopian reindeer herder. But, one magical day, as his reindeer happily nibbled on the local vegetation, something extraordinary happened. The reindeer began bouncing around with so much energy that they, well, started to fly!

Curious and a little excited, Santa followed their high-flying antics and discovered the secret: a mysterious tree filled with bright red cherries. The reindeer loved these cherries, especially one named Rudolph, who ate so many that his nose turned a brilliant red! Santa, of course, had to give these cherries a try with his dear reindeer. The taste? Amazing. The result? Sleepless nights! But instead of tossing and turning, Santa had an idea—why not share this amazing discovery with the world?

So, that’s exactly what he did. Santa hitched up his now-flying reindeer and set off to bring this incredible gift—coffee—to all the villages he could find. And for the children? Well, he couldn’t leave them out! Santa decided to leave little presents along with the coffee, spreading joy and cheer far and wide. Thus, the first Christmas was born, along with the very first batch of Original Christmas Coffee.

So, next time you sip on your holiday brew, just remember: you’re part of a long, magical tradition that began with flying reindeer, bright red cherries, and a little extra Christmas cheer!

So festive and delicious!

This coffee surprised me at how delicious it was. Strong notes of chocolate and cranberries. Very nice acidity as a filter brew, but use really hot water for this one.

Love Klatch Blends, and this is why!

I am a frequent flyer of 5lbs bags of klatch, even living in Tennessee. Very few roasters are willing to fly in the face of current trends and blend Ethiopian naturals in a medium dark roast to create a coffee which is greater than the sum of its parts. This coffee had great fruity notes, cranberry and kiwi, as well as a pronounced sugary note that balances out the brighter notes well. The roast profile makes for great espresso that appeals to the traditional espresso lover! I’m a big fan of this coffee and I think that any coffee lover can appreciate this, especially if they’re open minded to a lovingly blended and darker roasted African coffee.

Yummy!

This is honestly my favorite coffee from Klatch. I'm a big fan of Ethiopian coffees and their hints of berries, but the chocolatey notes from Original Christmas, along with berry, taste so festive, perfect for winter time. I wish they sold it year-round, though!

Hi? Is this a flavored coffee? I recall you offered a really delicious almond and (not recalling the other flavors) coffee last year at this time of year that was so Dang delicious! Are you offering one this year? Is this it?

Outstanding

Was lucky enough to try this on a side-by-side w/other Klatch Christmas coffees. Pre-Thanksgiving 2018. While the others were great - this was exceptional. I am pretty certain it was unanimous w/all who tasted it for all brewing methods.
Peak Flavors were of raspberry or ripe strawberry w/a bright milk chocolate. Nose was of citrus zest and dark hot cocoa. Bought the last bag at once and very forgiving of my less than adequate brewing skills.
