Our El Salvador Las Mercedes El Rubi Honey is grown on the La Avila lot and offers a caramel and molasses flavor that finishes with mandarin. With a lingering sweet aftertaste and a bright, juicy mouthfeel, this Honey Processed coffee is a memorable cup that will get your day going. El Rubi is a lot from La Avila mostly consisting of Bourbon and SL28 varietals. This lot has a special terrain because it has a lot of red soil (clay) and is under the shade, making this a special micro-climate that gives coffee that amazing and special sweet flavor. This coffee was chosen by Holly Perry for her wedding blend, so you could say it has her personality-sweet and charming!

Finca Las Mercedes - La Avila Lot

We at Klatch Coffee were drawn to Las Mercedes because of its great coffee, but we found what we fell in love with was the people, the process, and our shared passion for persistently striving to make coffee the best it can be. Finca Las Mercedes is a beautiful coffee farm with owners dedicated to care for their community, their workers, and the environment with the same care that they invest into their coffee. The Ortiz family provides healthcare, food, and clothing to those in the community that are in need. Las Mercedes is committed to ecological care, making efforts to preserve natural wildlife, to maintain compliance with our certifications in the way that the mill’s by-products are disposed of, and to avoid contamination. In the last few years, the Ortiz family has prioritized preservation by planting native trees. We are proud to offer this limited Direct Trade. As part of our Direct Trade relationship, 25 cents of every pound is invested back into the Las Mercedes community, funding community sports programs and the Los Ortiz medical clinic.

Overrated and Way Too Expensive

Sorry Klatch. I was OK with your coffee when it was 20% more expensive for less, 12 oz vs. 16 oz. At some point you went to 11 oz and are now 40% more expensive than really great coffee at 16 oz. I think xxx (Montana) and yyy (Georgia) are way better regardless of price AND at dramatically lower prices. This is both a function of roast quality and being quality. I do hope you are genuine and want feedback and will post this publicly.

Too light for my taste. But I mixed it with the Ethiopia Worka Natural and combined it makes delightful Apricot juiciness.

Fui a El Salvador en Diciembre 2021. Pobre el cafe Pacamara y cuando pobre el cafe Klatch. Pude recordar ese aroma suave del Pacamara, el sabor unico que con una tasa de cafe negro, complemento el pan dulce "napoleon" que compre en portos. El dia es alegre con una buena taza de cafe!
